Good morning. I think that I'm coming down with a dose of man flu. So I'm having a lazy day (ish)

Hi David,
I'm a graduate student in California and I'm looking at how people use Jaiku as part of my dissertation. I'm wondering if you'd be willing to be interviewed briefly by me (via Skype) about this? I'd really appreciate your thoughts. Thanks! Ingrid
Hi there. Skype isn't a good option for me. We're right at the end of a slow line and it keeps cutting out. I use it as little as possible. You'd also find yourself still in bed (I'm in the UK) at times when I AM avaialable. Just 'how' people use Jaiku is of great interest to me too. I think my contacts and I are looking for the same answers. At the moment we're finding the most benefit coming from the various RSS feeds we each subscribe to. Jame's interests and contacts in e-Learning differ slightly from my own - as do Lisa's and so on. This means that we get a wide spread of information and information sources that we wouldn't always get in other ways. The simple - 'good morning' and 'I have man flu' - comments simply help to smooth the humour of good companionship. If you had a questionnaire with open answers, I might better be able to help (and would like to) but otherwise (and skypewise) it would be difficult.
Interesting and very full comment Dave. I find the use of jaiku of more value the more we use it. With the 4 of us interested in the same area, but with a slightly different emphasis, it helps on a professional and academic level. With 3 of us in 3 different conferences a few weeks ago it also helped as a communication tool. HHL learning had a twitter channel which I hadn't realised at the time - which we could have utilised.
Hi David, Thanks for your replies. At this point in my research I need to maintain consistency with the other interviews I've already done, so I'm hoping to find people with whom I can speak directly. I'm happy to phone in any way that works, just mentioned Skype if it were convenient. Would you recommend that I contact Lisa or Jame? Sounds like they might have something interesting things to share as well. cheers, Ingrid
I'm more than happy to 'dish the dirt' - no really - i do a lot of work with pals in cincinati ( scuse the spelling) and Japan so am more than happy to talk. but james is a doer - rather than us who just talk about it. Though I'm off to see a practitioner doing some great stuff tomorrow.
Hi Ingrid. Let us know if you still want to do this. I'm 'home' now for a couple of days - I was unable to commit earlier due to committments elsehwhere. Both Lisa & I work in education (UK post 16) and have a great interest in understanding (finding) means of supporting a variety of learners. As I said b4 skype isn't good for me but if you want to call otherwise, let me know. We are 5 hours ahead of east coast time and 6 ahead of Alabama - if that helps you judge!
