I'll check out the word options l8r today - thanks, I'm slowly running in my Vista machine as it slows down productivity! I'm not stupied, but neither do I have the time to search for familier 'stuff'. The big flashy icons are a p.a.t.a. and I know that I can change it but ... Most of what I regularly use is hidden and it's taking some time to assemble them in one place. I'll get ther in the end. Thanks for the advice.

I just heard about a student at Sheffiled doing just this today. Details when I have it - sounds absolutely wonderful. The girl using the tehcnology couldn't hear the phone ringing, but when she was told - she opened the phone and a little window appeared in the corner and she was happliy sighing away to here mate on the other end - while others looked on in awe.

Ok - late reply, sorry (got too entertained last night with an old friend and had no time during the day to log on). I got 15 out of 18 (muist have added one) but had to guess about 6 because they hadn't told us!! I ate ALL the chocolate - sorry. The day led to mch dabate about what exactly personailsed learning was (I don't think THEY have it right - and this morning, meeting others - found that they didn't either). Today has been pedagogy with most presenters poo pooing PPT because it is didactic (doh!). I wanted to stand up and stop them right there, but I was there for me and not to pontificate, so i kept quiet and seethed. Afterall, anything not weilded correctlty can easily cause death!!! (...)

MMmmm. It's time for a new car I'm afraid. Well, it is for me. I've just fitted my third starter motor in less than three years. This time, it let me down on the drive, but the previous time I was in Sollihull (bad enough) and en route to Bridgewater (James will remember me not having a cup of coffee with him). But this time the warning (you always get warnings) came in the south of France and the second half of my holiday was spent worrying about what the problem was (because it never manifests itself in the same way!!!!!). This time is just wouldn't turn over - nothing and then, as I was about to take a branch to it, it started. Once home, we took iron bars to it but it still wouldn't go. Turned out to be a faulty earth AS WELL AS a faulty starter motor! So sometime before hard winter - it's got to go.
